Ever since I was little, art has been a huge part of my life. I’ve always been drawn (no pun intended) to expressing myself and my imagination in a physical form, as when I was younger I used to incoherently skribble what to me were superheroes. From there, I tried many different ways to improve my art and find a community behind it. I finally found it in a small art school run by my idol, Ms. Dottie. She took us on field trips throughout Chicago, taking us on architecture tours and led us on explorations through museums where she encouraged us to find a bench, pop in an airpod, and draw what we saw. At the end of every year, we would pick 5 art pieces, title them, and display them at the local library at our annual Art Show. Because of her, I learned that art is more than just lead on a piece of paper. Art is history, art is expression, art is culture, art is rebellion, art is uniquely you. Since my departure as a student, Dottie’s has grown tremendously, and rightfully so. If you are reading reviews considering whether or not to put your kids through her art studio or even join yourself, do it, it’s so worth it. She is an amazing teacher that creates an environment that encourages self expression and allowed me the opportunity to make lifelong friends. THANK YOU DOTTIE!!!

I really can't say enough about Dottie's Art Studio. My daughter has been part of her Junior Art League for years. Art is her favorite pastime, her hobby, her sport. Dottie offers multiple options for budding artists to develop their skills and to just have fun. She offers a comprehensive curriculum each year with projects, field trips, and a year-end art show. My daughter has started learning digital art through additional camps. We recently celebrated her 14th birthday with a painting party. Everyone had a great time! Dottie is a true artist. Classes are in full swing here at Dottie's Art Studio and we're thrilled to welcome back returning students and greet new faces too! If you or someone you know is looking to unleash their creativity, we have openings in our Tuesday evening (14+) and Friday afternoon (11-13) classes. Join us for a year filled with artistic adventures!

Have you ever wanted to dabble in watercolor? Acrylic? Pet portraiture? And the list could go on and on…well this is your opportunity! Come to an open studio night at Dottie’s art studio and give it a try! No need to bring any canvases, paint or supplies with you! Well take care of all that! And we have an instructor present that can help you get started and achieve your goal! And bring your friends! It’s a fun Friday night, 7pm-9pm, and try something new and for only $25/person!
